FAQ's

1. When should I have a trial?

You can have your trial as soon as you have decided on your clothing, colour scheme and other details that are important to you about your special event. Having your trial as soon as you have decided to have a make-up artist ensures that you are happy with your booking and means it's another item checked off your list. However, if you would prefer to do so, you can have your trial nearer to your special event, but it is recommend that you leave it no later than 3 weeks before.
It is important to have your trial in natural daylight so you can see exactly how the makeup will look on that day.

2. Why do I need a make-up artist on my special day?

Here are a few of the reasons why people get a make-up artist for their event. If any of these apply to you, then it's probably worth having a make-up artist.

  • You are unsure what colours to use and how best to apply make-up for the photography
  • You want the make-up to last all day
  • You will be too nervous/busy on the morning of your event to apply your make-up
  • You would like to be pampered on the morning of the special occasion

3.  I don’t wear a lot of make-up but I still want to look good without looking and feeling “made up”.

I've never met a woman that didn’t want to look beautiful on her special day. You don’t have to wear a lot of makeup in order to be beautiful, it just needs to be done correctly with the right products and appropriate for pictures.

4.  Do you have makeup for my skin type?

Certainly!  I am very lucky to have the opportunity to work with all types of people, ethnicities and different backgrounds.  I offer endless possibilities and color combinations that will enhance your natural features.

5.  Can I afford a professional makeup artist?

When you are investing a large amount of money on a photographer, having makeup professionally applied will ensure that your photographs will capture your beauty. Even if your makeup or your bridesmaid's makeup looks beautiful every day, makeup for photography is different and the products used are different. Remember that the images from your special event or photoshoot are what you will have to cherish and share with generations to come.  Also, most videographers are now recording in HD quality, which requires photo and film ready makeup.

6.  Do you apply false lashes and eye jewels?

Yes! Lashes and eye jewels are always available for application for an extra fee.

7.  How many people can you apply makeup to on the day of the event?
As many as you require, as long as I know in advance and it is written in our contract. I have worked for many events that have required up to 20 people's makeup to be applied on that day.

8. Can you cover my visible tattoo for my special event?

Yes!  There are many great products out there that will cover a tattoo.  Please inform me if this is needed at your consult so that we can perfect the tattoo covering at your trial. There is a fee of $5 for this service as it does take a bit of time.
